Built in 1921, the Kinsol Trestle is one of the largest and highest wooden trestle bridges in the world. The trestle, measuring 45 m (145 ft) high and 187 m (614 ft) long, spans the Koksilah River just west of Shawnigan Lake. Long abandoned, plans are underway to restore the impressive bridge and incorporate it into the Trans-Canada Trail network but at present, the trestle can only be viewed, not crossed.
